Kapha Diet Guide v1 - Important Information

These diets are certified by a nutritionist and takes in consideration the effect of combination of type of foods in order to ease digestion. In addition, it also recommends serving sizes and number of meals & brunches per day.  Please understand that any strides that you take to shift your diet toward being more Kapha-pacifying, it should be considered a win.

Kapha Diet Guide v1 - Qualities & Tastes

By nature, Kapha is heavy, cool, oily, and smooth, so eating foods that neutralize these qualities—foods that are light, warm, dry, and rough—can help to balance excess Kapha. The intention is to give you a more intuitive grasp of what will reduce Kapha, without having to constantly reference lengthy lists of foods to favor and avoid. Kapha is pacified by the pungent, bitter, and astringent tastes and aggravated by the sweet, sour, and salty tastes.

Kapha Diet Guide v1 - How To Eat

When it comes to pacifying Kapha, how and when you eat may be just as important as what you eat. Kapha gets pacified if you make it a point to eat in a peaceful environment, allowing enough time to chew your food. Also, keep a healthy balance of hydrating and drying foods. Eat a light breakfast and two major meals at the proper times. Minimize eating between meals, except some fruit or a small quantity of a dry Kapha reducing snack. Avoid water with meals (except a few sips) and immediately after meals to help preserve the delicate digestive fire. Sometimes, it is impossible to avoid all Kapha aggravating foods. When that is the case simply cook them in a Kapha pacifying medium like mustard oil. Or combine them with Kapha pacifying foods and spices.
